We continue our tradition of preparing Christmas shoebox gifts for children that will be distributed through Samaritan's Purse to children around the world.  This year our folks put together 24 boxes.  We had a hands-on blessing of the boxes during morning worship. May God use these simple gifts to bring the greatest Gift to children in faraway places!

The community of Hart, Texas held its second Festival of Hope on Saturday, September 30, 2023.  We enjoyed soul-inspiring music by the "Joyful and Happy Bunch" from Happy, Texas, a moving testimony by Mel Gomez, cancer survivor and transplant recipient. Tiny Dominqueg brought a message of hope that is found in Jesus.  El Sendero de la Cruz church and First Baptist Church provided hotdogs and hamburgers with all the fixings.

Thank you, Lord, for the rain!

We are ever so grateful for the recent rains. Our sympathies, however, to those who received too much in a short period of time, with subsequent flooding. Farming seems always to be a hazardous occupation, but as one farmer recently said, "We won't turn it down." God is good.  We trust Him to supply our needs as He always faithfully does.

Today, May 4th is the National Day of Prayer.  Each year the President of the United States designates the first Thursday of May as a National Day of Prayer.  Never was prayer more needed for our nation than it is now. Today I had the privilege of attending a prayer event held on the courthouse lawn in Levelland, Texas.  Several representatives of churches and other organizations led us in prayer for our schools, communities, churches and national and local government.  Th

Herald of Spring

I have found that nothing says, "It's Springtime!" like the appearance of bright, yellow daffodils. They are one of my favorite flowers.  My wife says they have a friendly, smiling face that always cheers you to see it. I planted several bulbs in midwinter and now have been rewarded by a group of them all blooming at the same time.  It reminds me that we do sometimes go through bleak, winter seasons in life, but God's love gently warms our hearts so that we can bloom again

Reading God's Word

I have found that the day just doesn't go right if I don't begin with a message from Scripture. If you are serious about reading the Bible through in a year, it can be done by reading four chapters a day and five on Sunday. If time doesn't permit that much, just try for a shorter passage.  I always like to add a Psalm a day.  God speaks to my heart through His word.  I need what He has to say to me every day.

We are currently studying Paul's letter to the Ephesians in our morning worship.  This is one of Paul's greatest works.  Some have called it "The Quintessence of Paulinism," meaning that it it is the most concentrated of Paul's doctrine and teaching.  Join us in this enriching study. You can find the sermon on this website or on Facebook each week.
