Letters last forever!  Conversations, texts, emails are easily forgotten or deleted, but hand-written letters are cherished and carefully preserved.  John's letters to the seven church of Revelation are 2000 years old but still vital and appropriate for our generation.  John shares a blessing for churches that comes from the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  He pays tribute "him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve His God and Father." The signature of the author of Revelation is the "Alpha and Omega," the very one "who is, and who was, and who is to come the Almighty."  Some say that is God the Father, Yahweh, "I AM"; others that it is Jesus, "the same yesterday and today and forever."  Perhaps it is both.  Revelation is the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.
