While Luke's gospel records the Christmas story from Mary's perspective and Matthew from Joseph's viewpoint, John goes deeper to declare the significance of Jesus' coming for all the world. John says that Jesus' Advent resulted in two great blessings for all mankind--Jesus brought heaven's glory and heaven's grace down to earth. "From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another." Like the never-ending waves of the sea, God's abundant grace just keeps washing over us, new every morning.
