God's grace is an amazing thing. There is no clearer evidence of the principle of salvation by grace through faith than that of a woman named Rahab. God saves important sinners like Abraham by grace through faith. He saves immoral sinners like Rahab in the same way. Rahab's name appears in the family line of both King David and King Jesus. Rahab demonstrated her faith by her actions, as James says, "Faith without works is dead." The scarlet cord that Rahab tied in her window, thus assuring that her family would be saved is considered by many to be a type of the scarlet thread of the blood of Jesus that runs throughout the Old Testament.
