Moses was 80 years old when he encountered God on the Mountain of God--Mt. Horeb, or Mt. Sinai, as it is requently called. The far side of the desert might not seem like the most likely place to encounter God, but it is often in the desert places of our lives that we come face to face with the Almighty. God reveals Himself in holiness, in compassion and in purpose. An encounter with God will prepare us for whatever task the Lord has for us. It might not be a burning bush, but God promises that if we seek Him with all our hearts, we will find Him.
