Discovering God's will for your life can be a challenging thing; however, we can begin with what the Bible clearly says is God's will: "Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." The last phrase is important--we can only accomplish this aspect of God's will if we are "in Christ Jesus." That is, we are saved and living a life of obedience to His revealed will. Here is a three-ingredient recipe for a victorious Christian life. Happiness depends on circumstances but rejoicing in the Lord is a choice we make. Praying without ceasing involves two things: maintaining a regular habit of prayer and developing an attitude and awareness of God's continuous presence. Thankfulness is an expression of faith. "The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him." Nahum 1:7. The Apostle Paul intends for these three Christian virtues to be not only for the individual but for the church. The church is to engage in joyful, prayerful, and thankful worship.
