An amazing truth about prophecy is that it is capable of multiple fulfillment. Joel's prophecy of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit was fulfilled at Pentecost following Christ's resurrection and ascension. But it will have a further fulfillment in "the great and dreadful day of the Lord" when Jesus returns. Until then we have the opportunity to call on the Lord and be saved, and we have the responsibility to pass on the truths of the gospel to our children and to the peoples of the world.
