In Revelation chapter ten John records seeing a mighty angel coming down from heaven robed in a cloud with a rainbow about his head. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land and declared that there will be no more delay--the Mystery of God will be accomplished. The mystery of God is simply Christ and His whole redemptive purpose being worked out in history. It is Christ in you, the hope of glory. The Apostle Paul adds in Ephesians that it includes the fact that "Gentiles are heirs together with Israel, members of one body, and sharers together in the promise in Christ Jesus." (Ephesians 3:6) Which tells us that you cannot know the true meaning of history apart from knowing Jesus Christ.
